NCAA DIII Women - Leonard-Fleckman, Secrest 3.86m

Senior Morgan Leonard-Fleckman of Washington (Missouri) won the pole vault Championship title at the NCAA III Indoor Track & Field Championships with her person season best and Field House record vault of 12-8 on Saturday at the ONU Sports Center.
Leonard-Fleckman, a three time returning national qualifier, took eighth place in 2006, returning two years later to win the title her senior year. Until attempting the NCAA meet record of 12-11.75, Leonard-Fleckman only missed a height once.

In close competition was second place sophomore Rachel Secrest from North Central, vaulting 12-8.

“I was just really focused today- focused on the process and not the outcome, that’s what my coach always says.â€

Ada, Ohio, March 15, 2008 – Senior Morgen Leonard-Fleckman of the Washington University in St. Louis women’s indoor track and field team won the pole vault title at the 2008 NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships on Saturday, March 15, in Ada, Ohio, with a Washington University school-record height of 3.86 meters. The Washington U. women’s team finished in third place overall, the school’s highest-ever finish at the National Championship meet, earning All-America honors in all three events in which it competed.
